For Families
Stewardship for Families can mean many things. Spending quality time together, as a family. Learning about faith together. Spending time with God while praying and/or attending Mass together. Sometimes Stewardship for Families can also be making commitments together or volunteering to share of your talents together.
Quality Time with the Family:
1. Family game night (rotate who chooses the games each time you do it or play quick versions of everyone's favorites). See ideas at Simple Catholic Living, a Catholic mom's blog.
Deepening your Faith Together:
1. Learn about the Saints as their feast days come throughout the year. This is a great example of how to live for Christ and stories that will stay with you and your children forever! Saints Stories for All Ages is available through Loyola Press.
Spending Time with God Together:
1. Pray together in the morning, before and/or after meals, and before bed. Read some ideas from Catholic Dads, a Catholic dad's blog.
Making commitments together:
1. St. Hilary's yearly Stewardship Commitment is a great time to explore the different ministries and outreach opportunities at the parish with which your family can become involved. Make a commitment to something new for your family. It may not be something you do at the parish within a ministry, instead it might be that your family will pray for the ministries at the parish or the people on the sick list. There are a lot of commitments your family can make to a church or to making your family better!
Volunteering to share your common gifts/talents with others:
1. Check out the abundant ministries at St. Hilary that will most definitely have a place for your gifts and talents to be used in glory to God!
